I decided to do a painting of beets when I saw the gorgeous colors depicted here. The painting sold right away, but luckily for you prints are available. I suspect most people would only consider vegetable images for the kitchen. Consider being bold, with these bright colors these beets will fit anywhere that needs a splash of color.

Is the little curled up pig a ceramic favorite thing or is she part of the dream? You decide.

Prints available. The original was painted as a demo for the Sequim September’s First Friday art walk. A nice dark bowl with yellow plums from a friend’s tree. I used an 8×8 gessoed cardboard to paint on with Casein paint, an environmental plus. I like the colors, maybe inspired by the surrounding landscape of the area.

A friend gives us Bosc pears each year. When you set two or more up for a still life they lean in different directions. It seems as though they may be “talking” to each other. I have fun arranging them and imagining what they are saying.

The original was created using my Baby Press, (yes that's the brand name). I hand cut the stencil from some old wallpaper. The Monoprint is collaged onto paper found in an old photo album. The print is made from a copy of the Monotype.

The varying greens of the oval bucket set off the pinks, reds and yellow of the flowers. The abstract shapes compliment the rounded bucket and flowers.

This surreal painting appears to be holly hocks riding in a boat. Or maybe it is a boat shaped vase with holly hocks stainding in it via a floral frog. These are my favorite colors.

This painting is the first on the theme of baked beans and date nights. A tongue in cheek painting. Would you served beans for date night? The ladle is for the beans and the souffle dishes yet to be filled.

Anyone who has lived in Maine as I did, knows that a baked bean dinner can be a great opportunity for a gathering, but it is not a fancy meal. This painting is tongue in cheek: baked beans with souffle, a flower and a candle. Perhaps the host didn't have time to make a multi-course meal.

The new method of encasing the Amaryllis bulb in wax so that it stands up on its own fascinated me. This was intended to be a portrait of the flower, but once I added the drips I knew that it had become something else.

Each winter there are Amaryllis in the house. This is a red one on a black background. I like the bluegreen and details of the stalk almost as much as the bloom. Frame not included, but this is how it looks framed.

This piece is only available as an 8x12 or 11×14 print. I have a penchant for little bottles and vases. This one is a heart shaped brown bottle that once contained Paul Masson port. In this painting it contains a Nasturtium.

Jonquils or as some call them daffodils are one of my favorite Spring Flowers. I think the bright yellow would seem garish any other time of year. However, after the winter gloom they are so welcome. Available as a print. You could change it out as the seasons change if unlike me you think a jonquil painting is only appropriate in the Spring.
